Tribute to Cracklin Radio

Since 2005 Cracklin Radio has been on the air through live 635 playing what can only be described as great music. The eclectic mix of music was put together by Eric Wincentsen who has continued to inspire and promote us as we have been lucky enough to have our music played on his show. But sadly at the end of the month Cracklin radio will be no more as Eric is moving on to better things. I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank you Eric Thank you for playing our music. Anniversary Circle
Eric In his own words Yes, it is official.  At the end of this month, Cracklin’ Radio is shutting down.  Cause of demise?  Lack of listenership.  Currently it takes about five to seven hours to update the station every two weeks and, recently, I have had few people tune in on a weekly basis.  Listenership right now is less than it was when I first started the station.I have often been confused on the reason why.  Many of you have contributed music, so I’m sure you know how great the music mix is.  I have tried everything I can to promote it with practically no budget.  The only solid piece of evidence is something that I have had to gradually come to grips with: as much as people say they want a variety in music, most people just want to hear the same old garbage played on the terrestrial station.  I’m sure you see that same phenomena.  Listen to a friend go through their iPod sometime.  They may have hundreds of great tracks, but most that offer the slightest bit of challenge they skip over unless they are “in the mood” for the song.  In fact, they probably sit there and play the latest Britney track over and over again. So, what’s in the future?  The title of this page will be changing at the beginning of March to Vinyl Casserole, which is my main show on LG73.ca.  I play a similar mix of music during that three-hour show, and I seem to have more listenership during those three hours than I have for a full month on my own station.  It may be the fact that I do the show live, or possibly that LG73 has such a long, established identity that people will just listen out of curiosity.  Whichever it may be, I feel much more satisfied with the results from that station.
That said, I will be going back to two shows.  The 21st Century Schizoid Show will begin this coming Saturday (I believe) from 12:00 - 2:00 pm Pacific time on alternating weekends.  It’s the same time as another popular show, Calliope Hijacked, but that show is only on infrequently, so I’ll be on whenever they are not.  What’s so special about the new show?  Well, it will only be featuring music released from 2001 forward.  That means I will still be playing all the great new music I receive.  The good news is that it will probably reach a larger audience than before.
As for doing my own station, that is on hiatus until I make a few decisions.  If it does come back, it will probably not be on Live365, and will probably be named Vinyl Casserole after my main show, so I’ll already have a name to sell.  The reason for not being on Live365 is because it may give me a chance to put the station iTunes, with the potential of at least getting the same audience as my live shows do.So, in conclusion, thank you for all your support.  It’s been a good run, but it is now time to move on to better things.

Two New Videos For Understand!!!

“This superbly dark song highlights the hopelessness of the ordinary person in the face of advancing, uncaring, militaristic capitalism, which sacrifices the very human fabric of society to pursue its ends of superpower domination in the name of democracy.
The video, peppered with images of urban decay and memorials to happier times, takes the listener on an eye-opening trip through a society ultimately in decline, the author of its own doom, the dregs of society hung out to dry and die in the cold, unmourned.
We try to understand, but does society as a whole ultimately care?”
